International Beekeeping Center
International Beekeeping Center aims to elevate Adana’s position in the international gastronomic community by fostering collaboration with countries renowned for their beekeeping traditions, particularly Slovenia. This initiative aims to integrate sustainable beekeeping practices into Adana’s rich culinary heritage, emphasizing the critical connection between apiculture, biodiversity and sustainability.
By establishing partnerships with Slovenian beekeepers, the project targets pilot actions on sustainable apicultural practices and tools to cope with challenges posed by climate change and to better control pest and diseases, including harmful invasive species. The project will highlight the critical role of bees in promoting pollination, enhancing biodiversity, which are sine qua non for resilient and sustainable food supply to protect a gastronomy culture.
Local stakeholders, such as the Binboğa Honey Cooperative and Kozan Municipality, will work closely with Slovenian partners to coordinate and implement project activities collaboratively.
This initiative will not only enhance cross-border collaboration in the field of beekeeping but also contribute to the development of Adana’s gastronomic culture by emphasizing the importance of bees in the food supply chain and highlighting the culinary potential of bee products.
