Taste Festival Introduced with the Theme of “Adana with its Roots”

The 8th International Taste of Adana Festival, which will be organized under the auspices of Adana Governorship and with the support of Adana Metropolitan Municipality and four central district municipalities, will be held on October 17-20, 2024 with the theme “Adana with its Roots”. The details of the festival were announced to the public at a press conference held at the Adana Museum.

Governor Köşger “Adana is a city of civilizations”

Speaking at the press conference, Adana Governor Yavuz Selim Köşger emphasized that Adana has always been the apple of civilizations’ eyes with its geographical location, industry, agriculture and fertile soil. Governor Köşger drew attention to Adana people’s fondness for food culture and said, “People eat to live, but Adana people live to eat. The theme of this year’s festival is ‘Adana with its roots’, which carries an important message reflecting Adana’s rich cultural heritage and deep-rooted past. We will host many local and foreign guests here,” he said.

Michelin Starred Chefs in Adana for the First Time

Governor Köşger stated that the festival will witness a first this year and said, “Michelin-starred chefs will participate in the Taste of Adana Festival for the first time. They will create unique interpretations by combining the culinary heritage of their own countries with the flavors of Adana. This is of great importance in terms of reinterpreting the heritage we take from our strong roots with modern touches.”

Adana is a Gastronomy Paradise with more than 600 Local Dishes

Emphasizing that Adana is not only about kebabs, Governor Köşger said, “Adana cuisine is a gastronomic paradise with more than 600 local dishes. Our festival offers a great opportunity to promote this richness. This year, we will organize a much more impressive festival than the previous years.”

The 8th International Taste of Adana Festival aims to introduce Adana’s rich culinary culture and deep-rooted history to the world. Preparations are in full swing for local flavors to make an impact on the international platform.
